Tag trees

In this online activity, you will be a researcher monitoring forest biodiversity. You will use the same process for tagging trees as the researchers involved in the Smithsonian Institution's Monitoring and Assessment of Biodiversity Program.

You have to tag the ten dark green trees in Plot 6 by following these steps:

1. Select a dark green tree.
2. To tag the tree, you have to enter three pairs of numbers:
   • The first pair is the plot number.
   • The second pair is the quadrat number.
   • The third pair represents the dark green tree within the quadrat. For example, the dark green tree in quadrat 10 would be tagged '06 10 07'.
   • Tip: Enter a zero before any single digit numbers.
3. Check your answer and then tag the tree.
4. Repeat these steps until you've tagged all ten dark green trees.
